I first hiked the Pacific Crest Trail over the course of 1994 and 1996, then I hiked the whole thing in one go in 2013. During the latter hike I kept this website updated as I progressed up the trail. I still have about 45 hours of video to edit, but in the meantime there is a lot for you to look at here. Over the course of the 168 days I wrote 138,734 words and put 13,644 photos on this website.
Now on day two of being here. Worked more on the blog. Braveheart, Beads, Puma, Halfway and I played Monopoly for a bit. I was able to keep pushing up photos to the blog while we played. Braveheart ended up with a hotel on Boardwalk which everyone subsequently landed on and ended up out of the game.
Finally got the blog updated and a bunch of us went up to Webb's bar where they had all you can eat tacos. A few of us showed each other photos of what we looked like back home. TP with no beard, Lightning Rod DJing when he was 40 pounds heavier, me in my suit, etc.
Back at the mostel we talked a bit as the rain and lightning started...finally. Everyone was waiting for the rain doom to come and it finally came, only a day late.
Let it Be told us a story of how one of his dogs was scared of the thunder and ran off. Made it across a four lane road but didn't make it back across. He said the dog was really scared of loud noises and sometimes fart in his sleep, then wake up and get freaked out.
Ended up going to bed around 11:00pm.
My friend Gabe is going to come up and hike with me to Steven's pass. So I am going to take tomorrow off too. This is fine, the weather is fine starting Saturday, which will be nice. I still haven't seen the Alpine Lakes Wilderness without a bunch of clouds, so this will be good.
