I first hiked the Pacific Crest Trail over the course of 1994 and 1996, then I hiked the whole thing in one go in 2013. During the latter hike I kept this website updated as I progressed up the trail. I still have about 45 hours of video to edit, but in the meantime there is a lot for you to look at here. Over the course of the 168 days I wrote 138,734 words and put 13,644 photos on this website.
Spent the day updating the blog. Getting closer. Pushing up a lot of photos so it is taking a while. Modified the photo code so I can shove multiple photos into an email and send it off. Only problem now is that the thumbnails on the iPhone camera roll are incredibly small. Working through it.
Went up to the restaurant for breakfast. Rode one of the bikes up there. Highway 906 was closed due to maintenance but I rode through it anyway. A guy later stopped me. "Top of the morning to you". He was just lost, I tried helping him out but he didn't seem to know where it was he wanted to go. He still hadn't found what he was looking for.
Worked on the blog at breakfast and TP and Halfway soon joined me. As we were leaving we saw another hiker sit down. He was hiking southbound and his name was Dude. He had an interesting way of talking. When he had a tip or piece of advice about something he had something to "lay on you". "...And here is another thing I wanna lay on you, when you get to the Suiattle River..." Really nice guy. He told me, "Man..OTC you totally remind me of this guy I met, two... something... two".
"Two Hats", I replied. "Everyone thinks that".
We ended up hanging out in front of the Chevron for a bit. The UPS truck showed up, the driver got out with a single package. It looked like there could be a couple memory cards in there. I followed the guy inside and he dropped it off at the counter. Sure enough, the package was my memory cards.
Got back to the mostel and worked on the blog. ____ said "Have any of you guys seen the movie '40 year old virgin?'
____ replied, "no, but I sure feel like one".
My childhood friend Travis drove up from Cle Elum and we had a nice dinner together. I got caught up with his life and the bands he is currently in (he plays drums).
Travis came back to the mostel for a bit and then left after they opened up I-90 again. It closes many nights so they can do blasting to widen the Interstate. I crashed out around 11:00pm with a blog closer to being updated.
